catherinegeorge.com comprises the work of Catherine George, an artist, designer, and educator who's work spans a multitude of mediums.

I have been creating art and music for my entire life. I feel very fortunate to have grown up in a very artistic and musical family. Early influences came from observing my father work in his studio. I developed a natural confidence in my abilities due to my parents acceptance, encouragement, and interest in creativity and the arts. As a family, we created many animated films while I was growing up. There was always a lot of music, everyone learned to play at least one instrument. Another early influence was from creating miniature clay cities with my brother.

Painting and drawing come natrually, in fact my drawing is almost a nervous habit - any moment I become bored, I sketch - usually people, faces - from my imagination. Sometimes these portraits are real people from memory, but most often they are made up people. I am interested in the intricate expressions of the human face, and how expression changes the physical attributes of a face, and can give us a glimpse into the soul.

More recently, I have become interested in Jewelry Design. Much of my work goes to family and friends as gifts, although I sell some pieces on eBay. Contact me if you are interested in purchasing jewelry or would like me to create a custom piece.

I am also an educator who has created and taught digital media design and technology curriculum in a variety of settings: college, high school, corporate training, private tutoring, and workshops for the general public.
